Dr. Aziz Nazha
Dr. Nazha is a practice manager in the Data and Machine Learning Team in the public sector at Amazon Web Services. He is tasked in building a healthcare focused professional service that covers data science, machine learning, and AI in healthcare.
Prior to joining Amazon, Dr. Nazha was the director of the Cleveland Clinic Center for Clinical Artificial Intelligence and an Associate Medical Director at Enterprise Analytics. He was also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Lerner College of Medicine/Case Western Reserve University and an Associate Staff at the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Taussig Cancer Institute, Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Nazha completed his Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship at Cleveland Clinic and a Leukemia Fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center where he also served as an instructor in the Leukemia Department.
Dr. Nazha is nationally and internationally recognized expert in treating patients with leukemia. His research focuses on using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning to translate genomic and complex healthcare data into useful clinical tools that can improve patient outcomes. He is also developed multiple machine learning and deep learning models to improve the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options for patients with leukemia. He was a member of the NCCN guidelines for myelodysplastic syndromes, a member of the International Working Group of MDS/MPN (IWG MDS/MPN), and the International Working Group of myelodysplastic syndromes (IWG MDS). He is the recipient of several prestigious research awards including the NIH K12 Career Development Award, Future Leader in Hematology for Clinical Research Award, the James S. and Suzanne Cyrus Scholar Award Finalist, William E. Lower Non-Clinical Research Award, and the Peskind Memorial Award for Excellence in Scientific Research among many other teaching and service awards. Dr. Nazha is an international expert and a keynote speaker in the application of AI in healthcare as well as the application of novel digital tools such as blockchain, IoT, and others in healthcare.

He is Adjunct Professor at Stanford University; holds six U.S. technology patents that enable authoring, mapping, and integration of clinical decision support into electronic health records; and has been recognized as one of the 50 most influential clinical executives by Modern Healthcare. Dr. Rhew received his Bachelors of Science degrees in computer science and cellular molecular biology from University of Michigan. He received his MD degree from Northwestern University and completed internal medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He completed fellowships in health services research at Cedars-Sinai and infectious diseases at the University of California, Los Angeles. Prof. Baumgart is director of the Preventicum, one of the largest clinics for Preventice Medicine in Europe. He is an internationally recognized internist and cardiologist. He is the past president of SPMS, Portugal’s Digital Health Agency, where he led National eHealth efforts for close to 7 years. He represented Portugal for 8 years and was the former Member States co-chair of the EU eHealth Network, the highest policy body on eHealth in the Union.
During the years at the Ministry of Health he was responsible for creating a health data sharing platform for all national health service compatible with the advanced GDPR principles as early as 2012, and negotiate this with the Portuguese National Data Protection Authority (CNDP) obtaining its fast approval in less then 5 months. He was directly responsible for legal and data protection issues while head of SPMS, creating and maturing management of data protection issues and fostering education in this area both inside SPMS and in the Portuguese NHS. In 2019 he established one of the first Digital Health ethics committee in an EU country.

Kristian Kidholm is Professor at Center for Innovative Medical Technology (CIMT) at Odense University Hospital (OUH) and one of Scandinavia’s leading experts on assessment of the value of telemedicine. He is Head of Research at CIMT and in charge of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and he has developed the MAST (Telemedicine Assessment Model), which is used as a framework to assess the value of telemedicine. Today, the model is the most widely used telemedicine assessment model in Europe and the MAST model is recommended by the European Commission to ensure a comprehensive and research-based assessment of telemedicine in the health sector.
